An off-duty firefighter was injured during an attack by a group of people with bricks overnight in Westchester.
Yonkers police are still piecing together the attack that took place around 3:14 a.m., Friday, May 17 on McLean Avenue at Radford Street, said Yonkers Police Spokesman Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.
According to police, the 30-year-old off-duty firefighter was found by Yonkers police with several lacerations to his head and body following an attack by several people subsequent to a potential road-rage incident that may have begun on the Saw Mill Parkway, Politopoulos said.
He was transported to an area hospital where he is recovering and cooperating with police in the investigation, Politopoulos said.
Detectives are actively investigating and developing information, including interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video. No arrests have been made at this time.
